This week…

The Missouri House of Representatives successfully passed out the budget, including funding for higher education. The budget includes a 5.4% increase in core higher education funding and funding for institution’s top capital improvement project. The main amendment made on the floor was to increase funding for the Bright Flight Scholarship Program. The budget now heads to the Senate.

Senate Committee on Education
On Tuesday, the Senate Committee on Education held a hearing to discuss Senate Bill 770, introduced by Senator May, which requires the Coordinating Board for Higher Education and the Department of Economic Development to jointly provide, for each credential offered at an institution of higher education, the median and range income and salary for certain recent graduates as described in the act, the graduation rate, the percentage of current students who have taken out student loans, and the average three-year student loan default rate for students who have earned the credential in the previous ten years. Such information shall appear on the institution's website and course catalog.

The Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ of Missouri Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ will be holding Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol on Monday, April 11, 2022. This event will showcase cutting-edge research from each of the campuses and will allow for the opportunity for these students to meet with their elected officials in their respective regions to highlight all the innovations and transformation taking place at four of system’s universities.
