As a publicly-funded institution, the custodian of records is the designated point of contact for records requests applicable to the Missouri Sunshine Law () for all universities within the Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ of Missouri Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ, as well as MU Health Care and UM Å·ÃÀ¿Ú±¬ÊÓƵ central administration.

The custodian does not have immediate access to all university records, but collaborates with university departments where records are housed to locate and process the records per the open records request. Requests are processed through a separate Public Records Center portal.
